The West Bank Is Finally Getting Some Attention

Four podcast and YouTube appearances from the past week

With two Americans murdered in the West Bank over the past month, and the high-profile killing of activist Awdah Hathaleen by a notoriously violent settler, the region is starting to get more attention in left and independent media. The terror and suffering still haven’t crossed the mainstream media’s threshold for sustained coverage, but maybe that’s coming next.

I’ve made a few podcast and YouTube appearances this past week to talk about what’s happening on the ground—and to discuss my latest piece for Drop Site, The Information Warfare Consortium Shaping GHF’s PR Offensive.

On Breaking Points, I discussed the spiraling crisis in the West Bank, the deadly pattern at GHF “aid sites,” and House Speaker Mike Johnson’s visit to a settlement. Watch the full 18-minute interview here:

I joined Katie Halper and Aaron Maté on Useful Idiots to talk about the killing of Awdah Hathaleen and the broader culture of settler impunity. I come on at 20:50:

I spoke with Matt Lech on Left Reckoning about a bunch of things, but I’d especially recommend the section starting around 29:00—on Israel’s use of “administrative detention” to imprison thousands of Palestinians without charge, and how the media’s silence around this prison system, which Israeli rights groups describe as a network of torture camps, gave birth to the most hollow moral litmus test of our time: whether every call to end the war is accompanied by a demand that Hamas release the hostages.
