“Every conversation being had about me is unproductive and therefore very productive for them … instead of having serious conversation about America’s allegiance to Israel”
So nice to see this interview. Though I use Hasan as sort of radio, I prefer to see him interacting with other adults! Media expressing views like yours and his are the future (and present) no matter what the Neera Tandens and Third Ways of the world have to say about it. Thank you for sharing your conversation.
If your clothes are too expensive, then you're a “champagne socialist" but if they’re not expensive enough, you’re just envious, or you're a hypocrite for benefiting from the cheap slave labor of the global south.
Ironically expensive clothes/bags/shoes, etc., tend to be more ethical since they're made in better working conditions by skilled artisans that are paid more.
So many Liberals are unable to understand leftist politics as anything beyond a fashion aesthetic because their own ideological convictions do not run any deeper than that.
I'm in NY17, and the Democratic Party is obsessed with Hasan and his interview with Effie Phillips-Staley. Some of the centrist supporters are lambasting me with lies about Hasan when they really only care about Israel.
it seems that this whole conversation is around the rhetoric of the war. What is the point? Stop sending arms to Israel. Stop supporting their politicians. Do something that would make a difference.
A smart, interesting and informative conversation. So refreshing in today's monotonous mediasphere. Thank you!
